New Headquarters for the Spanish Red Cross in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid

Architecture with identity. A comfortable place to work in.

The place where the new Headquarters for the Assembly of Spanish Red Cross will be built is located on a medium scale strip of building facilities, which establishes a transition between the consolidated residential neighborhood with single-family homes and an area of great commercial and institutional infrastructures.

The project makes the most of the spatial comfort provided by the domestic scale of the neighborhood and the visibility offered by the nearby shopping center and other service buildings.

The new headquarters will be a comfortable space to work in, an intimate and pleasant place, but at the same time, it will provide a clear institutional image.

A series of small courtyards planted with trees configure the interior atmosphere while a prismatic and clearly defined volume, emerging over the horizontal plane plinth, provides a distinguishable and strong architecture image.

The building conveys the image of modernity, efficiency and sobriety characteristic of the entity it represents.
