The action on sector L proposed in the competition will considerably increase its density. We propose an open building structure that maintains a certain formal and morphological continuity with the residential buildings to be preserved in the sector, as well as resembling the volumetry and urban space of the surrounding area.
This open condition allows greater flexibility in the management of the complex functional programme requested, without requiring the segregation of each fragment of the programme into an independent and isolated built volume. However, this open condition allows a volumetric diversity that modifies the urban space, enriching it without being aggressive, defining an urban landscape on two scales: the city and the neighbourhood. In this way, the variations in height and volume of the buildings minimise the effect of density, and the permeability of the ground floor allows for the continuity of public spaces. The interior open space is thus configured as the main protagonist of the project.
