HOUSE in TACORONTE, Tenerife

The house is built on the north side of the plot, to let the garden on the south. To the north an areaway solves the slope of the piece of land and lights the basement with the service spaces and garage. On the ground floor, the living room, with a double height ceiling to the south, and the kitchen and bedrooms to the north are located. The bedrooms are separated by a compact furniture that houses the wardrobes and bathrooms. The upper floor repeats the down floor structure separating the bedrooms from the double height living room.

The volume of the house is compact and strong. The openings on the facade define its identity. Every window is important and has its own character and position that marks a difference with the others by having a specific shape, size and orientation. In this way the abstract volume that results complies with the composition of the openings of the facade more than with the distribution/organization of the inner uses. Pergolas and small pavilions give sense and order the garden.
