HEADQUARTERS OF THE CIVIL GUARD AIR BASE, Madrid

The complex is placed on the landscape as an external object. It is a fully metallic construction wrapped in galvanized steel and aluminum sheeting, organized in neat forms with a neutral shape. Only the hangar roof escapes the formal anatomy of the complex with a partially curved section that acts as a north light catching screen.

The overall organization follows a basic operational logic. The hangar being the main piece, a hall of 50×86 meters, free of intermediate supports, surrounded on three sides by warehouses, workshops and laboratories, and in its south façade entirely open to the roadway platform for the takeoff and landing of helicopters. Near the main entrance are the general offices and on the opposite end the pavilion that contains different additional technical services and facilities. Opposite them all, to the south, are the aircraft maneuver platform and the refueling point.
