RECOVERY OF THE TAGUS RIVER, Toledo

The fundamental aim of the project is to recover and enhance the landscape, cultural and financial identity of Talavera de la Reina, consolidating it as the gateway to the region.

The fundamental aim of the project is to recover and reinforce the landscape, cultural and economic identity of Talavera de la Reina, consolidating it as the gateway into its region.

In order to break up the execution of the works without compromising the overall idea, the proposal is divided into nine projects, eight of which are interventions in the territory and the last one is the creation of a web site for the Tierras de Talavera Park.

Always respecting the river and its ecosystems, the proposal includes the fundamental design criteria of maintaining the level of the river’s sheet of water without altering the levels of the existing weirs, which would compromise the hydraulic framework of the river. It also includes plans for new activities for the future users of the park.
