The project takes the urban fabric pattern built in the heart of Moscow as its urban and morphological reference. It takes from this model its closed and urban character towards the exterior of the city blocks, where it is in contact with the sidewalks and streets as well as its picturesque and varied character, freer and more related to the landscape, towards the interior of the block.
For this reason, small angles and breaks are drawn toward the interior, providing sensory and visual richness to the project, as well as a more domestic scale that easily creates a “family” ambiance. These perspective tricks, oblique views or trompe-l’œil, also create a more picturesque space with unceasing capacity to amaze.
The pedestrian walkway that links the Victory Park with the Sofiyskaya Embankment and the river shore, through the project’s site, is located at the east side of the site, and it is where the commercial activities of the program can be found. Thus, the most urban activity of the site partakes and activates the pedestrian flow and the residential facility is located on a single precinct, optimizing the enlarged open spaces and with a unique access that ensures a more secure and exclusive community.
