Council House, Garganta de los Montes, Madrid

The building is located next to the Town Hall, on a plot of land characterized by its irregular perimeter. The stairs, the elevator and the service rooms, attached to the party wall, regularize the geometry of the plot.  The remaining available main space accommodates the double-height multifunctional room that can open up completely to the Town Hall square; a club for the elderly that expands towards an already existing patio and three offices for the different associations of the village.

The south-facing interior, with a self-regulating geometry, is well-lit and warm. The exterior, made out of wood and stone, responds to the exiting rural architecture. Windows appear on the façade only when required based on the interior distribution.
